Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Account Technician I for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois to serve as a payroll/timekeeping technician for Chester Mental Health Center.  Serves as a facility timekeeper and payroll officer for an assigned area. Serves as back-up to the Office Administrator III. Serves as a back-up to the Business Office. Performs technical accounting work for Personnel Services and related expenditures. 

Essential Functions

• Serves as a payroll/timekeeping technician for Chester Mental Health Center.  
• Serves as a payroll officer. Prepares, calculates, verifies and processes payroll deductions, corrections, changes and revocations.
• Serves as back-up to the Office Administrator III by assisting with various functions in areas of Personnel Services, including employee schedules. 
• Serves as a back-up to the Business Office by performing technical accounting work. 
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
