Why this role matters
The Doorways program provides person centred care to community members experiencing financial or other forms of hardship through the provision of financial and material emergency relief. Case management is provided at some of the Doorways sites to engage people through early intervention as well as address long term disadvantage to break the cycle of poverty and alleviate financial hardship. Our practitioners are strength based and trauma informed in their practice to build individual capacity, resilience and wellbeing.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Family Case Worker who will provide effective contribution within transdisciplinary team to facilitate and evolve the delivery of services for families and The Family Place Model of practice. To work collaboratively within TFP and across sector partnerships with services that reflect the needs of the local community through continual consultation with families and children to ensure that The Family Place is responsive and families can access the right supports at the right time.
You will successfully
- Contribute to the shared day to day operations of a community based not for profit, faith-based organisation consistent with TSA vision, mission, and values.
- Support the planning, set up and pack down of play based activities including daily cleaning, tidying and activity tasks of allocated zones.
- Develop, plan and facilitate service wrap around activities/programs in consultation with families, Team Leader, internal and external partnerships.
- Support operations of The Family Place including; contributing to team cohesiveness and goals, brokering partnerships, both internally and externally, and maintenance of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, WH&S, reporting and data collection activities and supporting operational coordination.
- Contribute to the strategic and operational plan, including budgets and financial responsibilities in accordance with TSA policy and processes, in consultation with the Team Leader.
You will have
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development field OR demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development
- A current Working with Children (Blue Card)
- A current Driver’s License
- Passion and drive for working with families with children from a social justice framework in early prevention and support
- Experience in the social/human services sector working with children and families
- Demonstrated ability to develop practice in others through reflective processes and continuous feedback
This is a Max-term (6 months from hire), full-time position located in Logan, Woodridge, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 5 Award.
