Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  

  • Work cross functionally with business and site leadership to establish and execute a global quality strategy including development and deployment of QA objectives to all levels of the organization.
  • Specifically responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the quality systems and processes that ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
  • Establish and document the quality standards, procedures, and guidelines that comply with the relevant regulations, industry best practices, and customer expectations.
  • Oversee the quality audits, inspections, and certifications that verify the compliance and effectiveness of the quality systems and processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) for all Manufacturing operations.  Maintain all quality certifications (ISO/AS 9001, IEC17025, NADCAP, etc.)
  • Support Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and related initiatives, including but not limited to mentoring and championing Six Sigma and Lean Projects.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement actions to reduce and ultimately eliminate Quality escapes and Scrap.
  • Drive the effective and efficient resolution of all Customer generated quality complaints using robust problem-solving methods and techniques (8-D, FEMA, etc.)
  • Represent Greene Tweed in customer communications for both proactive and reactive quality improvement activities.
  • Work closely with Procurement team members to ensure that all Supplier-created quality issues are effectively and efficiently investigated and resolved.
  • Ensure Suppliers audits are completed when needed.
  • Drive capability, within team, for robust problem-solving skills and methodology.
  • Maintain and improve Greene Tweed’s Material Testing function ensuring on time delivery of products with compliance to required standards.
  • Support project teams to ensure successful launch of new products in the market.
  • Support collaboration to design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time and improve product quality.
  • Ensure collaboration between engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as cycle time, yield and scrap rate and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
  • Develop team members to improve business performance and establish a pipeline for succession.
  • Specifically recruit, train, coach, and motivate the quality staff and ensure they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to perform their duties. Allocate and monitor the quality budget, resources, and equipment and ensure they are used efficiently and effectively.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (in a technical discipline)
  • Master’s degree preferred

Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum of 10 years in a quality-related management position. 
  • 2-10 years experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in production management preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Green Belt Certification or higher required.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • Experience and background with ISO, TS, and AS Quality System Certifications required. 
  • ASQ Certification and/or affiliation desired.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Semiconductor, Thermoplastics, Elastomers strongly preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
  • Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
