Manufacturing Technician Laser Cladding (m,f,d)
YOUR FUNCTION
Full responsibility of executing the complete value chain for successfully delivering laser cladded or 3D printed components:
- Setting up and operating laser cladding systems
- Operating robotic welding systems (teaching points, workobjects, …) (ABB & Kuka)
- Setting up metal powder feed systems with proper wielding consumables
- Setting process parameters, installing tools and aligning of work pieces
- Keep track of production KPI’s and register production times in our ERP system
- Perform in-process checks of hardware and the laser cladding process
- Conduct quality control inspections
- Ensure projects are running according to established Inspection & Test Plan (ITP)
- Perform measurements with micrometers, hardness measurement devices, calipers, layer thickness devices, etc.
- Register all findings / measurements in quality reports on laptop / pc
- Logistics
- Registration of incoming and outgoing goods in the ERP system
- Ensure adequate packaging of components
- Preparation of documents for delivery in ERP system
- Preventive maintenance on all equipment
- Set up and follow maintenance schedules for each type of equipment
- Ensure laser equipment and optics are in top condition at all times
- Ensure the machines are clean and representative for visitors

- Opportunity to learn to operate other equipment from part washing machines to CNC machining but also sandblasting and airless painting, and to be part of establishing new equipment on the shopfloor.
- When experience grows, there are opportunities to travel to customers, suppliers or other SKF sites to perform quality measurements or support the production of laser cladded products.
- Enable the company to grow from a start-up towards a scale-up:
- Actively participate in enabling new production capabilities on the shopfloor:
- preparation of the new infrastructure
- Participate in taking equipment in production for the first time
- Write work instructions and procedures for operating / maintaining equipment
- Actively manage improvements on the shopfloor
- Work according to 5S and continuous improvement philosophy
- Have the opportunity to establish shopfloor improvements with help of suppliers
- Work with the R&D team to develop process data collection and visualization
- Register failure- modes and analyze root cause
- Log lesson’s learned in product work instructions
- Support R&D activities by preparing and executing weld validations
- Preparation of samples for microscopic analysis or hardness mapping
- Opportunity to learn to execute basic analysis on microscope or hardness mappers
- Actively participate in enabling new production capabilities on the shopfloor:
YOUR PROFILE
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience in the metal working industry
- You have experience operating complex machinery or numerically controlled machinery
- You enjoy working with new technologies and taking part in optimizing work flows and processes
- You rate safety highly and adhere to the health and safety procedures when executing daily tasks and procedures
