About the role

Description

The Specialty Account Representatives are responsible for maintaining Black Diamond customer accounts on an in-house basis for North America wholesale retailers. This includes sales support, technical product support and problem resolution. This position will work in collaboration with the sales team to execute the order management, build account relationships, and promote growth by proactively identifying issues and opportunities. The Specialty Account Representatives will uphold the management of booked orders, and handle wholesale retailer requests such as (but not limited to): revisions to orders, questions about product, reporting shipment discrepancies, placing orders in our B2B and more.


Essential Functions

  

1. Maintain accurate order book in Navision for all accounts included in the territory. This includes importing/ entering, allocating, monitoring, and releasing sales/ blanket orders in a timely manner. 

2. Build customer relationships as it pertains to the Sales Operations functions of order related details such as timing, availability, backorder management, PO adjustments, overall account performance, and identifying areas of opportunity.

3. Authorized to answer incoming dealer calls and make outgoing calls to customers. Responsible to report problems and recommend solutions to the Specialty Sales Manager.

4. Responsible to take orders and sell product in accordance with BDEL ISO Contract Review Procedures. Responsible for dealer requests for delivery within the parameters of current terms, conditions, pricing, and availability. Responsible to acquire authorization for any orders that fall outside of regular terms.

5. Authorized to collaborate with regional sales representatives/ sales management as needed to provide the best possible customer experience.

6. Responsible for assisting in administrating pre-season selling/ reselling, territory distribution and all other aspects of territory management.  Emphasis is placed on meeting territory sales goals in conjunction with monthly sales goals.  Maintaining current and intimate knowledge of their territory's customers.

7. Responsible for coordinating with credit manager on collection issues and customer credit limits.

8. Travel to regional shows, demonstrations, account visits, and sales events as requested by the Specialty Sales Manager.

9. Authorized and responsible to issue Return Authorizations for any restockable product in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the ISO Returns Procedure. Responsible for obtaining the Specialty Sales Manager & Field Sales Manager’s approval for other returns (i.e.: overstocking and large order cancellations).

10. Responsible for, but not limited to, assigned territory within the Specialty Sales team. Managing North America accounts is dynamic and may change at any time

11. Must be willing and able to participate in trainings and presentations, and if requested, lead relevant trainings and presentations within the Sales department.

Requirements

Education

Required:  High School Diploma/ GED 

Preferred:  2- 4 years of college education 


Work Experience

Required: 1-2 years experience in retail and/or wholesale sales

Preferred: 1-2 years experience in retail and/or wholesale sales in outdoor specialty


Skills and General Experience

 Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Sales and product knowledge are mandatory. Time management, account management, and computer skills are important. Ability to work with accuracy in Excel, Outlook, and sales platforms (such as B2B) is essential.  A Specialty Sales Representative must be articulate, detail oriented, and represent the company’s mission, vision and values. 


Alternative Qualifications

 An active, on-going knowledge of company products or additional work experience would be preferable over additional education.
