About the role

CSA is seeking a Network Engineer Lead at Schofield Barracks to provide overall communications architecture for the JMSC and spoke sites, with coordination responsibility with outside agencies and stakeholders.
This position is contingent on award.

How Your Role Will Make an Impact:

  • Develop Enterprise Network Architecture to include LAN/WAN, encryption, DNS, DHCP, Firewall, security, software defined network (SDN), voice, video, data, collaboration and Cloud components
  • Maintaining network architecture and infrastructure for multiple networks.
  • Develop and implement network and service monitoring capabilities, with a focus on managing capacity and performance and diagnosing and resolving network problems while ensuring secure operations
  • Manage Configuration and optimization for all network devices (to include but not limited to firewalls, Cross Domain Solution (CDS), Virtual Infrastructure, servers, hubs, routers, and switches.
  • Monitor changing network technology and deliver a technology update to the executive team each quarter
  • Install, test, maintain, and upgrade operating systems software.
  • Work with JMSC Government and contract staff, and outside stakeholders to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network
  • Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services
  • Support the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, and implementation. Ensures security analysis and integration throughout the life-cycle
  • Secures network system by enforcing Government policies; develops and executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Best Business Practices (BBPs) for EOPM&D assigned Government Information Systems and associated network
  • Maintains necessary information assurance protocols and services on stimulation/simulation information systems and associated network enclaves that includes but not limited to: System lock-down procedures, operating system patches, and stimulation/simulation software patches
  • Responsible for creating and administering Continuity of Operation Plans (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) plans that ensure the availability of Government Information Systems and associated network enclaves
  • Manages and implements compliance with Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) as defined/required by RMF Security Controls and Defense Information System Agency (DISA) requirements/BBPs
  • Manages/Coordinates/Executes incident response and handling procedures according to Government regulations, policies, procedures, and associated RMF Security Controls
  • Supervises a team of network engineers at JMSC (hub).

What You Will Need to Join Our Award-Winning Team:

  • Clearance: Must possess a U.S. Top Secret clearance
  • A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience OR an Associate’s degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR a major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience OR 11 years of recent specialized experience.
  • Experience in Network architecture design and implementation.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining server platforms and network devices, to include firewall configuration
  • DoD 8570.01M IAT II certification: CompTIA Security+ or higher Information Assurance certification
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Demonstrated understanding of technology integration and information flow including LAN/WAN, firewalls, security, storage, servers and services, and backup methodologies
  • Capable of quickly developing/attaining knowledge of specific product lines to assist the government with optimizing its Information Systems and associated network enclaves to efficiently meet requirements of complex training environments
  • Understand and assist the Government with the implementation of RMF through the Assessment and Authorization process, as well as the RMF Assess Only process as required to ensure the authorized use of software, networks, and systems in support of training
  • Experience configuring and managing network and server devices
  • Expertise in implementing software systems engineering process, including development, integration, and testing process is required
  • Experience with US DoD modeling and simulation
  • Experience with Joint Exercise Life Cycle is preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to document and update processes
  • Ability to perform tasks under deadlines
  • Have a very high degree of attention to detail
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills to peer and senior management audiences
