The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to aid in a variety of functions in the Purchasing Office, supporting all programs and business units at SDL.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a USU student pursuing a business degree
- Must have a minimum of two years remaining in school
- Must be able to work on-site in Logan, Utah
- Must be available to work for up to 20 hours during semesters and up to 40 hours during summer break
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Must have a strong work ethic, dedication, sense of ownership in their job, and be self-directed/motivated
- Ability to perform analysis
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and other productivity tools
- Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US Person
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license or Utah identification card to complete job-related duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Business-related experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compliance to processes and procedures
- Maintain supplier database
- Process purchase orders and requisitions
- Maintain purchase order files
- Audit invoices and initiate payment process
- Reconcile purchase order discrepancies
- Contact suppliers
- Interact with other teams such as Shipping, Quality, Travel, and Accounting
- Ensure documentation meets policies/procedures for completeness and accuracy
- Provide information for audits
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
