JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

This position, with little to no supervision, is responsible for developing/implementing program development management objectives that meet the needs of the business, including formulating specific program requirements and research project objectives that meet the needs of the sponsor. Establishes metrics, analysis requirements for complex projects or major inquiry or examination, including interpretation, definition of scope, conceptual development, research design and project management.  

Directs the research, analysis, and communication of results of other team members and oversees the coordination of those efforts to attain business objectives. More specifically, this position represents UI’s position to external audiences, including regulatory and industry entities.  Provides direction and mentoring to support other analysts, if applicable.


MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1.Independently assesses/develops/produces multiple transactional procurement strategies and processes and identifies opportunities to reduce costs and risks to UI’s customers.  
2.Reports and manages/tracks programs associated with various energy procurement and market/hedging activities.
3.Solves complex problems and performs analytics that respond to inquiries related to pricing, supply, demand, credit risk and the interaction between various markets.
4.Anticipates customer and stakeholder needs; assesses requirements and identifies new creative solutions.
5.Communicates difficult concepts related to wholesale energy/hedging activities and regulatory program rules related to clean energy procurements and programs to internal and external parties, including UI senior management.  
6.Develops reports and presentations for various internal and external parties, including UI senior management.
7.May be required to represent AVANGRID orally or in writing to regulatory, public and industry focused entities, including the New England Independent System Operator, Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, the Connecticut Legislature, and other external agencies. 
8.Reviews and analyzes Power Purchase Agreements and tariff agreements and reconciles complex pricing and accounting to ensure appropriate reporting and payment methodologies are prepared and updated as necessary.
9.Plans and manages the logistics of Budgeting activities and ensures appropriate accounting and budgeting estimates are prepared and updated as necessary.
10.Prepares reports and regulatory filings and supports such filings as appropriate through testimony or other written communication with regulators, as required.
11.Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Connecticut’s statutory clean energy goals, including assisting with Connecticut’s Clean Energy Standard (CES) implementation plans. 
12.Ensures compliance with all appropriate energy supply, and clean and renewable energy procurement obligations. 
13.Conducts power procurement processes from inception through successful completions, including the selection of eligible projects, and negotiation of contract and pricing terms for electric supply, including  those which may be associated with the Connecticut Low and Zero Emission Renewable Energy Credit Program, Shared Clean Energy Facility Program, and Renewable Energy Solutions Program, or other long term clean energy procurements, and Standard Service/Last Resort Service procurements.  


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a related analytic discipline, including but not limited to, accounting, finance, business, environmental, energy, or the equivalent. This position also requires a minimum of ten years of experience in one or more of the following areas: energy electric/gas) procurement, wholesale energy trading/marketing, energy supply planning, integrated resource planning, renewable energy, ISO/NEPOOL markets, regulatory planning/strategy, credit risk management, and energy contract/supply administration. Similar experience with corporate purchasing and contract management, energy accounting and/or experience with SAP functions related to purchasing, supply management and accounting may be partially substituted for experience with energy markets and contracts.

Skills/Abilities:

•Advanced Microsoft Office suite experience including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote and Access. 
•Proficiency with complex spreadsheet analysis.
•Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication ski
