POSITION SUMMARY:

The Specialist, Batch Release coordinates all release-related activities, ensures on-time release of products and components, and ensures secondary inspections are performed in an efficient and timely manner. Main tasks include coordination of release activities, review deviations, tracking of ER/Unblock, coordination with Operations on corrections required, and reporting on release metrics.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

People and know-how:  Flexibility with work schedule based on 24/7 production facility & team member work schedules. Ability to work with cross-functional partners, i.e Operations, CTAG to execute all release-related activities. Ability to work in multiple computer programs and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

 

Coordination of release activities:

  • Ensure the finished products are released in compliance with all applicable requirements (FDA, regulation in the selling market, Nestle) in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the on-time review of the batch records (24h for critical parameters).
  • Responsible for the on-time release of the batches that are right first time.
  • Contact with internal laboratory for delivery of analytical results.
  • Ensure timely management of deviations
  • Weekly calls with Quality in the Businesses and Follow-up of Unblock requests.
  • Tracking of batches list, Active participation in site DDS Meetings with update of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure reporting of First time right (FTR) and Average release time (ART) numbers to the Quality Manager as an input to site DDS
  • Coordinate additional sampling and re-inspections with warehouse as needed.
  • Ensure timely release of raw and packaging materials. Review deviations.
  • Makes Usage Decisions in SAP

 

Support during audit and inspections: Ensure necessary support during audits and inspections (FDA, NSF, USP, Organic, Kosher, Halal, etc.)

                                                                                                                                                                             

Continuous improvement: propose targets first time right (FTR) and Average Release Time (ART), suggest improvement of the process

 

 

EXPERIENCE:

Academic Experience

Preferred: A Bachelor's (BA or BS) in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field.

 

Operational Experience

  • At least 2 years of Quality experience
  • Experience in regulated industry experience (dietary supplement, food, pharmaceutical)
  • Previous demonstrated capability to lead a group (i.e. team leader role) is an asset.

 

 

Business Experience

  • Different factory positions in Quality
  • Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams

 

Other Skills

  • Superior verbal and written communication, leadership and planning skills are required.
  • Able to understand and to clarify complex problems.
  • Able to identify and suggest new opportunities

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $70,000- $80,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
