Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Analytics and Digital Solutions team is hiring an Experienced Software Engineer – Immersive Technologies (AR / VR) Innovation.  The primary focus of this role will be to integrate immersive technology capabilities with augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) to aid in the development of new maintenance solutions that will support aircrew and maintainers across a wide range of aircraft systems in our portfolio.  This role will meaningfully contribute to the development of integrated solutions linking existing and future capabilities into customer facing products. Additionally, you may help map the technologies in our portfolio to our customer’s most pressing capability needs, both domestically and internationally. You will play a critical role in shaping the direction of our technologies and ensuring that our systems meet the emerging and future needs of our military customers.

The team uses Agile methodologies to support all aspects of product development, including project management. The applicant will be required to actively support the team to continuously improve and develop innovative and creative solutions for our products and the processes we use to develop.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Passionate about developing new capabilities, especially AR/VR/MR, learning analytics, and web-based digital solutions
  • Communicates well with fellow developers on team and key stakeholders to understand design requirements
  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering team to build and implement solutions
  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle in an Agile development environment
  • Assist in development of software roadmap and architecture
  • Review and provide input for technical approaches
  • Perform requirements development and interface definitions

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other technical degree
  • 3+ years of work experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and testing
  • 1+ years of work experience in developing virtual reality and/or augmented reality applications

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc
  • The ideal fit are individuals with video game programming experience, Unity 3D (Game Engine), C# preferred, but Unreal skills are applicable
  • Visual Studio (Integrated Development Environment)
  • Experience with Git or a similar version control system.
  • Pipeline definition supporting continuous integration / continuous development (CI/CD)
  • Has successfully developed and deployed innovative software capabilities to customers
  • Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Experience with cloud computing and analytics technologies

Typical Education & Experience:

Mid-Level - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior Level - Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
