About the role

The Plan, Design, and Architecture Unit within Enterprise Infrastructure Services - Service Management is seeking an IT Network Architect to lead the planning and design of network infrastructure solutions supporting Generative AI, Research, and clinical practice. This position will specialize in providing network solutions in support of on-premise Linux solutions and cloud-based technologies, enabling cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) capabilities. The architect will define the architectural roadmap for our next-generation network infrastructure and cloud environments, aligning with Mayo Clinic's strategic goals and research initiatives, with a focus on supporting Gen AI/LLM and HPC workloads. This includes designing and implementing high-performance network architectures for GenAI and HPC workloads, ensuring optimal performance and security. The role also involves collaborating with cloud and infrastructure teams to integrate network solutions with cloud networking services, developing and implementing network automation strategies for efficient provisioning, configuration, and management, and monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and evaluating new networking technologies to meet evolving needs.

This role involves strategic planning, network design, and technical leadership, ensuring the network infrastructure is scalable, efficient, robust, and secure. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Linux server administration, network technologies, cloud computing principles, and architectural frameworks, with a proven ability to translate complex requirements into innovative network solutions. The architect will design scalable and resilient network solutions for high-performance GPU clusters and HPC environments, optimizing for GenAI model training and execution. They will also develop architectural blueprints for network design, processing, access, and cloud deployment, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, resource utilization, and security.
