Position Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of a portfolio of project initiatives, from conception to close, aimed at supporting key business outcomes. The Project Manager will organize, manage, support, and execute projects by leading cross-functional project teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Project Manager will support the Project Management Office by being a subject matter expert in project management processes and framework, and process improvement.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Project Initiation: Align with sponsor, stakeholders, and decision-makers to define and manage scope, success criteria and resources (people, materials, technology) necessary to drive the desired outcomes of the project scope. Collaborate with Sponsor in requesting necessary capital for project execution.
- Project Planning and Execution: Lead and manage high impact projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to achieve milestones and outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders ensuring their requirements, expectations and feedback are incorporated throughout the project lifecycle. Act as the main point of contact for project updates, concerns, and resolutions.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and performance targets are met. Foster collaboration and support team members to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and mange project risks and roadblocks, implementing mitigations strategies to minimize impact. Escalate critical matters to the sponsor and leadership when necessary.
- Budget and Resource Management: Collaborate with Accounting to monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget. Work with sponsor to allocate resources efficiently in alignment with business unit vision.
- Performance Reporting and Analytics: Track project progress against key performance indicators and deliver regular status reports to leadership. Analyze data and provide insights to optimize project performance and outcomes against success criteria.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the evolution of project management best practices within the organization. Identify opportunities to improve process, increase efficiency, and support overall project goals.
- Change Management: Support the organizations initiatives by helping manage people and organizational aspects of change, including communication, to ensure successful adoption of project success criteria.
- Project Management Office: Uphold the structure and governance outlined by the project management office, utilizing proven project approaches, operating models, and work prioritization necessary to meet and exceed the vision of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree in Operations, Engineering, Process Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on transformational or large-scale project initiatives.
- Strong project management skills including the ability to independently plan, execute and deliver on scope, schedule, cost, and quality deliverables.
- Excellent communication, presentation preparation and delivery, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to seamlessly interact with various audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, delivery driven environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability with a focus on driving outcomes.
- Knowledge of change management principles and experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
