Senior Corrosion Engineer

We’re looking for a new Senior Corrosion Engineer in our Traction Power/Electrical Group to help drive the objectives and challenges our valued clients have trusted us to solve for them.  The idea candidate should be in the eastern half of the United States, but most of the time can be remote in nature. 

 

As a SYSTRA US Senior Corrosion Engineer you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The primary role of this position is to perform the following duties, associated with stray current management, corrosion and grounding for electrified railroad projects:
  • Develop design drawings and documents
  • Develop technical specifications
  • Develop test plans
  • Perform field tests
  • Develop reports
  • Develop studies
  • Develop proposals
  • Develop calculations
• Manage project work including scope, schedule, budget and reporting
• Lead other engineers, designers, and drafters and be responsible for project quality, execution and interfacing with clients
• Perform site investigations and testing in high-voltage substations and along electrified railroads
• Perform business development activities to secure new work

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of science degree from an ABET accredited educational program applicable to corrosion engineering project work

• 15+ years of transit related corrosion experience
• Cathodic Protection 4 - Specialist (CP4) certification
• Experience with the design, installation, testing and commissioning on transit related stray current and corrosion control technology centric projects
• Knowledge of electrified railway systems
• Working knowledge of industry standards associated with corrosion, stray current and grounding, including but not limited to NACE
• Excellent technical writing skills and good verbal communications skills
