Position Specific Description
Be part of history as we restart Duane Arnold Energy Center. Support the restart by providing CAD drafting and configuration management support to engineering teams. In this entry‑level role, you’ll develop and revise controlled engineering drawings, maintain plant design documentation, and support modification packages to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with nuclear quality standards. You’ll work closely with engineers across disciplines and gain hands‑on experience in a regulated nuclear environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, and maintain engineering drawings using CAD software
- Incorporate redlines, as‑built information, and field markups into controlled documents
- Maintain configuration management and document control records
- Support plant modifications, design change closeout, and field walkdowns
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, procedures, and quality requirements
- Occasional field work and flexibility during restart phases
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with CAD software and ability to read engineering drawings
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation and/or SolidWorks
- Exposure to configuration management or quality programs
- Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear facility
Job Overview

- Conducts fundamental investigation of nuclear system performance
- Performs root cause analysis of problems
- Follows direction to initiate corrective action processes
- Analyzes preventive maintenance programs of assigned systems
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Grad / GED
- Associate's or Equivalent Experience
- Experience: 1+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's - Engineering
Special Requirements
Nuclear Specific Requirements:
- Associate's in Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent military training/experience
- Engineering or related technical experience: 2+ years
- Experience with engineering technology principles and theory as they relate to Engineering Technology and to power plant systems, components and structures
Nuclear Specific Preferences:
- Bachelor's in Engineering Technology or related technical discipline
