Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Film Budgeting team by preparing budgets, analyzing cost scenarios, and managing film incentive workflows. This position requires proficiency in budgeting software, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, confidential production environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare film budgets, create different scenarios, and analyze cost alternatives
  • Partner with Production Finance to track and reconcile estimated final costs vs. budgeted amounts; generate variance reports
  • Assist in managing the film incentives process from beginning to end
  • Oversee domestic and international third-party audits
  • Determine film incentive eligibility for projects and compare possible location incentive opportunities
  • Prepare and manage applications of State and Foreign Film Incentives
  • Maintain incentive resources and budget trackers for Production Finance and Physical Production, and keep department informed on updated/new incentive schemes
  • Cultivate relationships with Film Commissioners and perform outreach for budgeting and incentive inquiries
  • Track qualified incentive costs and report changes to incentive value
  • Collaborate with EVP Production Finance and Tax Department to monetize film incentives
  • Oversee compliance and due diligence for foreign production service companies
  • Perform ad hoc research and analysis of production data

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of domestic and international film production and tax incentive programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Payroll Accounting Software (SmartAccounting, PSL), Movie Magic Budgeting,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-organized with strict attention to detail
  • Self-starter who thrives in both independent and team environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Integrity in working with and maintaining confidential information
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting
  • Production experience preferred

HybridThis position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
