Certified Medical Assistant (Floater)

Description

Provide comprehensive front and back-office support as a Travelling Medical Assistant, including patient care, appointment scheduling, medical record filing, patient registration, insurance verification, and coordination of patient referrals. Mileage is reimbursed if asked to travel outside of home clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organizes and maintains a filing system for patient charts, including filing and pulling charts
• Greets patients and visitors
• Initiates a triage for response by medical personnel
• Registers, verifies and updates patient records
• Provides exceptional customer service, responds promptly and appropriately to customer needs
• Maintaining office and medical supplies
• Handles physician requests in a timely manner
• Prepares and sanitizes rooms
• Travels/Floats when needed*

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED); completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Proficiency in front and back-office medical assistant duties, including patient care, scheduling, and administrative support.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and referral coordination.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
• Outstanding organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.

*MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO DIFFERENT CLINICS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong computer skills and knowledge of internet software, and Microsoft processing software
• Detail oriented and organized
• Flexible and reliable
• Professional attitude, patience and kindness in all interactions
• Medical Assistant Certification required
