The Transfusion Services Office (TSO) Department Coordinator will collect and organize data for transfusion planning and management of the Fred Hutch Transplant, Immunotherapy, Hematology, and Heme-Malignancy patients. The TSO Department Coordinator operates in a multidisciplinary environment and across multiple institutions.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the department liaison with center staff and outside organizations, coordinating information flow by triage of incoming phone calls, providing non-clinical data and information that supports clinical care and distributes reports.
- Coordinates TSO patient files of upcoming patient arrivals, patients who arrive for return care or are new patients to the service and discharges.
- Gathers from several data sources all relevant transfusion and demographic patient data assembling it into a TSO file for the RN to plan transfusion related patient care.
- Process BWNW test reports to Electronic Health Record (EHR), for shared files and enters the relevant testing results into the TSO patient files and/or database for RN review.
- Prepares electronic reports for TSO RN review.
- Coordinates TSO activities to ensure deadlines are met.
- Organizes TSO data and performs advanced excel functions to generate quality reports.
- Enters key department metrics into TSO database.
- Maintain ongoing contact with data suppliers to ensure timely and complete delivery of data.
- Obtains and process the electronic records of all FHCC patient transfusions in the Outpatient Clinic, Seattle Children’s and University Hospital for data quality and integrity and loaded into the research database.
- Assists the Transfusion Services Office (TSO) in the development of administrative TSO procedures and policies. Implements and administers these administrative policies and procedures.
- Provides meeting support and coordination. Takes minutes at all TSO staff and committee meetings, prepares agendas and distributes minutes.
- Manages the TSO staff and departmental calendar, meeting invites and may approve time.
- Reconciles TSO credit card expenses and prepares for approval.
- Orders departmental supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school graduation or GED required.
- One year previous experience.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to take direction and work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
- Proficient with MS Outlook, Zoom and Word.
- Able to perform advanced Excel functions.
Preferred:
- BA/BA Preferred. Experience in a clinical setting, oncology ideal.
- Experience with Power point and visio preferred
- Two years previous experience preferred.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $30.30 to $45.43 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
