Senior System AdministratorWhat does a successful Senior Information Technology Systems Administrator do? At Fiserv, a Senior Information Technology Systems Administrator ensures the smooth functioning of our IT infrastructure and provides robust technical support to users. They are critical in overseeing system reliability, performance, and security across Windows and Linux environments. As a key player in our team, they collaborate across various teams to maintain our platforms and uphold our high standards of reliability and technical excellence.
What you will do:
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize Linux and Windows servers and network infrastructure. Perform patching, updates, and backups across server and desktop systems.
- Manage Active Directory, file servers, security policies, and endpoint configurations. Support hardware and software deployments internally and at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues.
- Assist with disaster recovery testing and documentation.
- Contribute to infrastructure projects and modernization initiatives.
- Implement protocols like firewalls and manage user accounts.
- Ensure system reliability and efficiency by implementing monitoring systems and optimizing performance.
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Implement containerization and orchestration solutions using technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
What you will need to have:
- 7+ years of experience in system administration in Windows & Linux environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent military experience.
- Proficiency with Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Experience with cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection.
- Familiarity with networking concepts like firewalls, VLANs, DNS/DHCP, and routing.
- Experience working with ServiceNow and SMA Automation.
- Experience managing Azure Cloud platforms.
What would be great to have:
- Certification such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure Administrator.
- Knowledge of AI tools beyond basic use of ChatGPT.
- Experience in FinTech, Financial Services, or SaaS environments.
- Proficiency in Azure, scripting languages (Python, Bash), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Mastery in automation tools and scripting languages.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform or CloudFormation.
Important information about this role:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
- You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.
