WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
We are seeking an Associate Technical Product Manager for the American Red Cross Innovation team. The Associate Technical Product Manager will work with Innovation leadership and stakeholders to determine, document, and help deliver on the product requirements for technology solutions that service the Red Cross mission.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to understand business practices and technical considerations, determine product and user requirements, prototype/test and track work to completion, and ensure the solution provides the intended business value. The ideal candidate will have coding experience and strong communication and relationship management skills to partner with Red Cross stakeholders in our Biomedical Services mission area. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys quickly moving from idea to prototype to decision point in a test kitchen style environment.
The work location for this position is remote, but we are asking for candidates who can support US East Coast business hours. For example, West Coast candidates would be asked to start their day around 10 am ET/7 am PT.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
• As part of the Innovation team, ideate and evaluate technology, industrial/physical automation, and AI opportunities in helping our Biomedical Services mission area delivery.
• Document the business cases that can be used to initiate technology and AI projects.
• Drive rapid experimentation by quickly translating ideas into user stories, UX mockups, and functional prototypes to validate desirability, feasibility, and user desirability in our Biomedical Services Test Kitchen.
• Build lightweight proofs of concept using low/no-code approaches when appropriate to accelerate validation and reduce time-to-learning.
• Partner closely with engineers and stakeholders to keep prototypes moving from concept to working demo—removing blockers and ensuring clear next actions.
• Help maintain a roadmap of all active projects with high-level timelines tracking project/portfolio performance metrics to monitor business value over time.
• Work with our employees, contractors, and volunteers to coordinate the daily task and status of work within the Innovation team.
• Learn and understand business processes and technical requirements for the development of solutions.
• Work closely with clients to analyze the current and future direction of technology and data science to meet business goals.
• Investigate complex operations-related problems/inquiries and recommend, facilitate and coordinate solutions.
• Prepare communications and make presentations related to your work.
• Educate clients about the software and project lifecycles and the business roles.
• Facilitate problem resolution between IT and the business, as needed.
• Represent, champion and balance client interests within IT.
• Provide training and guidance to other staff.
• Perform testing of the product at the site and remotely.
• Log bugs and work with the developers for resolving the issues.
• Drive user testing with field resources to check if the product works as desired from user point of view.
• Frequent visits to the site to build relationships with the field teams and understand user pain points.
