Virtual Health program coverage 7 days a week, including holidays

Supervises the day-to-day activities of clinical nursing staff and ensures effective and efficient operation of the department. Monitors productivity and suggests changes and improvements in nursing services. Assures nursing compliance with established policies and procedures. Coordinates education and staff development of new and existing nursing staff.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the clinical staff. Assigns and monitors work of staff and manages the schedule. Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure efficient operation of the department. Serves as a clinical resource for staff. Addresses and resolves patient/staff questions, concerns, and/or complaints.

  • Enforces policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient flow of department activities.

  • Identifies, develops and conducts appropriate training and education to ensure staff meet and maintain skills and competencies.

  • Enforces high patient care standards through regular tracking and monitoring of clinical outcomes. Monitors and assures staff productivity according to established targets.

  • Develops collaborative and cooperative relationships with internal partners, entities of Aurora at Home, and other customers, physicians, as well as community organizations.

  • Promotes programs and/or strategies that have been developed for home care and/or hospice.

  • Ensures clinical team and operations meet all local, state and federal compliance standards, and accreditation.

  • Provides input into the operating, personnel and capital budget processes and is accountable for operating within the budget.

  • Works collaboratively with the manager in developing and achieving established goals and quality measures in alignment with health outcomes.

  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.


Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.


Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in in clinical nursing.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including project management, decision making, delegation, prioritization, team building, time management, customer service, and conflict resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on a multidisciplinary team in order to effectively meet the needs of patients.

  • Intermediate computer skills including use of Microsoft Office or similar products.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to a normal office environment.

  • Position requires travel therefore may be exposed to road and weather hazards.

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
