The Material Handler – Stores WIP is expected to perform the following duties and tasks with guidance from supervision and work queue assignments issued by the Stores Lead. The WIP will follow work instructions and procedures and perform a wide variety of tasks relating to material movement from Stores to the production floor.

This position is located at the Raytheon Dine Facility in Farmington, NM. RTX Dine Facility adheres to the Navajo Nation Preference in Employment Act in areas of recruitment and hiring practices.

This is a second shift position.

What You Will Do

  • Kitting, material handling, presenting parts to production operators at designated point of use locations, and inventory/material control.
  • Perform some manual and/or administrative duties that will utilize computers involved in inventory control or preparation of materials for shipment.
  • Issue material using parts list and ensure proper packaging.
  • Operate forklift, dolly or other means to transport material within the factory.
  • Check and determine proper material storage area, primarily consisting of line flow parts staging areas and production point of use locations.
  • Coordinates and monitors material availability to support product workflow, assisting in scheduling and prioritizing activities in assigned area.
  • Expedite material as needed to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Performs physical and/or cycle counts on material and investigates inconsistencies.
  • Draws attention to important items and actual or potential problems and assist in developing solutions.
  • Checks for work correctness and ensure proper records are maintained.
  • Understands and performs all job duties in accordance with the appropriate operating procedures/instruction relative to all environmental/safety requirements and regulations governing the work area within an individual’s classification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to maintain product flow.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing or operations.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Analytical, interactive, and computer literacy skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Windows 95 or newer, and database/test software.
  • Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Customer focused individual, well organized and capable of multi-tasking and working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish common goals and provide status as needed.
  • Position may require standing or sitting for long periods of time, walking, bending, stooping and must be able to lift 50 lbs.
