Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Site Reliability Engineer. Principal. Devising and implementing changes that optimize performance of global software services; Defining, implementing, and mining data feeds to diagnose and solve content delivery challenges; Developing tools, ideas, and prototypes utilizing automation and feedback to proactively monitor service performance and availability; Providing support to highly available systems that run across thousands of data centers; Improving Akamai products through collaboration with product developers and support teams; Recommending viable technical solutions that would improve effectiveness and reduce technical debt; and Advocating for reliable and scalable system design for supportability, resilience, and reliability. Required Qualification:
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Applied & Computational Mathematics, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have four (4) years of experience in the following: Data Analysis, Python, Linux, Computer Networking, SQL, Databases, Media Streaming Protocols, Web Performance Optimization, Monitoring, Grafana, Object Storage, ceph, R, and Tableau.

Alternative, employer will accept Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, Applied & Computational Mathematics, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role. Must have four (4) years of experience in the following: Data Analysis, Python, Linux, Computer Networking, SQL, Databases, Media Streaming Protocols, Web Performance Optimization, Monitoring, Grafana, Object Storage, ceph, R, and Tableau.

Compensation:
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $148200 - $307800/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or  incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
