Summary
Your role as a Payroll Specialist will both utilize and expand your talents. In addition to your daily responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to create lasting relationships with our diverse team and directly contribute to our path to becoming the most sought after, respected, and successful engineering firm in the country.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in payroll and timesheet audit and analysis activities regularly
  • Process salary changes, compensations, garnishments, deductions, bonuses, and vacations payouts for employees
  • Report to department supervisor regarding daily activities and issues
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees or managers in a timely manner
  • Prepare payroll reports for other departments in the organization
  • Maintain employee payroll records and timesheet data
  • Process stop payments, voids, off-cycle checks, or payrolls as needed
  • Process new hire and terminations timely
  • Assist with various payroll projects or audits as needed to maintain compliance

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years processing payroll of at least 500 employees
  • Multi-State Processing
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance, including calculation of payroll tax and overtime regulations
  • Solid understanding of payroll vendor systems; Paylocity a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office – Advanced Excel user a must
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting, or relevant field is a plus
