This critical role will contribute to the success of a significant U.S. Space Force program by supporting the integration, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure, including hardware, networks, communication systems, and antennas. The Hardware Engineer III will play a pivotal role in ensuring real-time issue resolution, minimizing downtime, and optimizing system performance.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with talented professionals, and contribute to the advancement of space technology. Complete DescriptionAs a Hardware Engineer III at Caribou Thunder, you will be responsible for conducting research, designing, developing, and testing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or custom computing hardware and other electrical components. You will create innovative designs for component installation and integrate these components into various environments, such as chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, customer facilities, and shelters. In collaboration with a skilled team, you will plan, direct, review, and coordinate project documentation to ensure alignment with customer contracts and company requirements. Additionally, you will evaluate vendors, prepare specifications, and analyze test reports to maintain the highest standards of quality.Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research, design, and development of COTS or custom computing hardware and electrical components.
  • Design installations and integrate components into diverse environments such as chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, and customer facilities.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and review of project documentation to meet customer contract and company standards.
  • Evaluate vendors, prepare specifications, and analyze test reports to ensure hardware reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate within a scrum team, contributing to agile development practices.
  • Utilize Linux operating systems for configuration changes and system data analysis.
  • Perform hardware testing for functionality and performance optimization.
Minimum Requirements
  • Proven experience in researching, designing, developing, and testing COTS or custom computing hardware and electrical components.
  • Familiarity with Data Center rack design and integration.
  • Knowledge of major IT hardware manufacturing product lines.
  • Track record of planning, directing, reviewing, and coordinating project documentation to meet customer and company requirements.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
  • Experience analyzing system data to implement configuration changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to test hardware for functionality and performance.
Preferred Requirements
  • Certification in relevant hardware engineering disciplines.
  • Previous involvement in space or defense industry projects.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and contributions to sc
