Overview
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, and 5+ years of related work experience.
· Extensive experience in the following areas:
o SAN – Hitachi, DellEMC, Nimble, Pure
o NAS – Hitachi HNAS, DellEMC Isilon, Oracle ZFS, TrueNAS
o Object storage – DellEMC ECS
o Local and Remote Replication technologies such as: Brocade FCIP, EMC SRDF, HDS HUR, DellEMC RecoverPoint.
o SAN Fabric administration and maintenance (Brocade, Cisco MDS)
o Managing and monitoring a backup environment leveraging enterprise backup technologies including CommVault, Rubrik, and Veritas
o Multipathing (MPIO) technologies on various platforms (Windows/Linux/Solaris).
o Fibre Channel and iSCSI Block Storage Protocols, CIFS and NFS File Storage Protocols
· Knowledge of database technologies, including MSSQL, Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, and experience supporting enterprise database applications including optimal storage configurations.
· Deep understand of storage and server virtualization technologies as well as hyperconverged infrastructure
· Strong communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
· Dedication to work and willingness to work hard under pressure in a team environment.
Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
· Perform all aspects of SAN and NAS administration including planning, installation, upgrading, patching, tuning, support, and troubleshooting.
· Assist in the architecture of storage arrays to provide a highly scalable, highly available Storage Infrastructure environment.
· Participate in the creation of documentation, standards, best practices and new processes for operational integration of new technology solutions
· Assist in the governance of the storage and backup environment to ensure compliance to defined standards, policies, and operational procedures
· Work closely with application development teams and systems administration to test, troubleshoot, and optimize new and existing database-driven applications.
· Monitor production, test, and development database environments and actively pursue any issues limiting the performance and scalability of these systems.
· Mentoring and directing of non-senior peers
· Help promote a consistent vision and strategy throughout the organization
· Effectively and professionally interact with customers, clients and employees.
· Must be willing to carry a cell phone, be on-call and occasionally work odd hours to help meet customer service level agreements.
