About You and This Role - What you will do in this role
We are looking for the next Maintenance High Pressure Pipe Fitter Technician to support Zone 2 in Plaquemine, LA. As a high pressure pipe fitter technician, you provide maintenance craft specific support to plants. Maintain and repair all types of piping, tubing and fixed equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. This role requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
Responsibilities – Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role
- Install, Maintain, and repair piping and fixed equipment in an industrial plant setting.
- Diagnoses and corrects equipment problems.
- Calibrates and aligns equipment.
- Completes preventative maintenance activities.
- Checks sizing of components and parts.
- Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.
- Assist in coordinating maintenance spare parts.
- Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.
- Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.
- Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.
- Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.
- Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
- Participates in startup coverage, weekend callout, and night shift work as needed.
Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and one or more of the following:
- An associate's degree or higher in science or technical related discipline.
- 3 years of relevant military training/experience.
- 3 years of relevant maintenance experience.
- Willing and able to work a day job utilizing an alternative work schedule (4 ten hour days -- Monday to Thursday).
- Willing and able to work overtime and call-outs when required after-hours (nights, weekends and holidays), depending on work to be done.
- Willing and able to interact with all levels of employees, disciplines, and functions in daily activities.
- Current, valid US driver's license.

- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Physical Requirements
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
- Wear and use respirators.
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
- Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
- This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
