<p>As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within our Small and Mid-Sized Business (SMB) and Business to Consumer (B2C) Marketplaces Technology Team, your role will be pivotal in applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to our vital Payment systems. These systems, developed using advanced technology, are key to our transition to cloud-based operations. You will be tasked with managing and enhancing non-functional requirements such as the platform's availability, reliability, capacity performance, and scalability. Your primary goal will be to boost the performance of production applications and systems.</p>
<p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate across Application Development, Product, and production management to establish and maintain Service Level Objective (SLO), Service Level Indicator (SLI) and Error Budget for key Production services.</li>
<li>Code and cloud artifacts, configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated artifacts to independently decompose and iteratively improve reliability in the applications</li>
<li>Understand service level indicators and utilize service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers</li>
<li>Supports the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within team</li>
<li>Participate in bi-weekly sprints to build and deliver scalable SRE capabilities across applications to improve availability, reliability and observability and manual toil.</li>
<li>Work with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases and ensure delivery of non-functional requirements.</li>
<li>Manage priority incidents and leverage cross-functional teams to quickly eliminate impacts and facilitate blameless post-mortems</li>
<li>Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Formal training or certification on site reliability culture and principles concepts and proficient applied experience</li>
<li>Proficient in site reliability culture and principles and familiarity with how to implement site reliability within an application or platform</li>
<li>Deep expertise in instrumentation, customization, and usage of modern observability toolset such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, Prometheus, ThousandEyes, Splunk, Geneos. and strong understanding of key tenets of observability such as metrics, events, and traces.</li>
<li>Proficiency in modern cloud and container platform like AWS and Kubernetes.</li>
<li>Expertise in operating both Linux and Windows platforms</li>
<li>Expert in at least one of the relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle)</li>
<li>Expert in at least one of the No SQL databases (Cassandra, Mongo)</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Batch scripting, Ansible, PowerShell or Shell Scripting</li>
<li>Expertise utilizing one of the batch scheduling tools such as Control-M or Autosys</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Cloud certified and/or working experience on public/private cloud-based applications</li>
<li>Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, .NET</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About the Payments Innovation Lab in Athens</strong></p>
<p>We recently announced plans for a new office in Athens, Greece, to support our organic growth in the country and to bolster the innovation efforts of our Payments business globally.</p>
<p>J.P. Morgan first opened its doors in Greece more than five decades ago, and today we provide products and services from across our Investment Banking, Payments and Asset & Wealth Management businesses to a number of local and multinational Greek clients.</p>
<p>The new office will house a new Payments Innovation Lab, which will provide research and development to the J.P. Morgan Payments business. Initially, the Innovation Lab will concentrate on the development of solutions around distributed ledger technology.</p>
<p><strong>Greek male nationals must have completed or have no obligatory military service obligations</strong></p>
<p><strong>Candidate should be comfortable with rotational weekend support, with eligibility for comp-off leaves.</strong></p>
