Purpose

The Research Engineering/Scientist Associate I (RESA I) position will participate in mobile measurements in Austin, Texas, and in environmental chamber experiments conducted at UT Austin. Depending on need, the position may also assist other projects through data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Data analysis and interpretation: Analyzes data collected in Austin and in environmental chamber experiments.

  • Ambient measurements: Conducts mobile measurements of particulate matter in and near the UT Austin campus.

  • Communications: Communicates with collaborators throughout the project and shares findings with the scientific community. This includes assistance in preparing peer-reviewed publications.

  • Laboratory experiments: Assists in conducting laboratory chamber experiments.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with measurements

  • Experience with data analysis

  • Ability to work well in collaborative, various teams

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in statistical modeling, data analysis, and scientific programming languages (Python, Matlab, or R)

  • Familiarity with a variety of air quality instrumentation

Salary Range

$35,568 + depending on qualifications
