IT Operations Intern  

 

Location – hybrid: New York, NY  

 

Overview 

The IT Operations Intern will support the IT Services team in both end-user support and operational initiatives across device management, asset lifecycle, cloud services, and emerging AI tools. This internship provides hands-on experience in a modern IT environment, offering exposure to tools such as Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, enterprise asset management systems, and AI-powered productivity tools like Copilot and internal chatbots. The intern will assist in maintaining a secure, efficient, and user-friendly technology ecosystem while gaining insight into IT operations and service delivery at scale. This role also provides the opportunity to develop professional and social skills by working with a global, diverse team and interacting with colleagues across multiple regions. 

 

What you will do:

  • Assist with device setup, imaging, and configuration using tools such as Intune or Autopilot. 

  • Support the management of hardware inventory, asset tracking, and refresh cycles. 

  • Help monitor and maintain compliance and security policies for endpoints under guidance from IT Operations. 

  • Participate in software deployment, patching, and update activities across Windows and macOS devices. 

  • Provide basic technical support to users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 

  • Assist with AI-powered tools and automation, including Microsoft Copilot, internal chatbots, and productivity enhancements. 

  • Help document internal procedures, IT standards, and process improvements. 

  • Contribute to process automation or reporting tasks (e.g., pulling device reports, AI-generated summaries, or compliance dashboards). 

  • Shadow senior technicians and system administrators to understand global IT operations, ticket workflows, and service improvement projects. 

  • Support occasional IT initiatives such as office moves, hardware rollouts, or technology upgrades. 

What you will need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • Basic familiarity with Windows administration, Microsoft 365, endpoint management tools (Intune, Jamf, etc.), and AI productivity tools preferred. 

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies, including AI/automation. 

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple small tasks with attention to detail and follow-through. 

  • Collaborative, proactive, and curious about enterprise IT operations and emerging technology trends. 

  • Enthusiasm for working with a global, diverse team and developing professional skills.
