About the role
The Real Estate Industry Practice Leader will work closely with colleagues in other divisions, adjacent industry practice experts, and line of business managers to create and work closely with the field to effectively implement strategy and execute upon the business.
Major Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning and Execution: develop business plans for the Industry Practice ensuring the execution meets strategic and financial objectives. Evaluate strategy and adjust as necessary to meet changing market conditions.
- Accountability with support and concurrence of line of business for driving, executing and achieving the Real Estate business plan, including local team underwriting approach, profit, retention and growth.
- Establish short and long-term strategic goals, operational priorities and forecasts to achieve revenue growth goals.
- Be active in the marketplace with agency visits, presentations, trade shows, alliances, etc. in order to raise awareness of Chubb’s capabilities and brand in the Real Estate space.
- Develop and execute a plan to effectively utilize distribution for the Industry Practice as necessary and appropriate.
- Update and review industry strategies and use of policy forms to ensure compliance of current corporate underwriting strategies.
- Establish and track progress against plans, highlighting issues, controlling expenses and maintaining underwriting integrity.
- Develop positioning and pricing strategies to produce desired long-term growth and profitability.
- Make appropriate decisions on accounts to ensure growth and long-term profitability of the Real Estate Industry Practice.
- Work closely with the Regional Managers, CI managers, Specialists and Territory Underwriting Managers to effectively implement and execute Real Estate strategies and objectives.
- Work extensively with industry practice and line of business partners, general counsel, actuarial, data analytics, and other senior leaders.
- Travel for this position is required (North America) – 25%
Knowledge and Skills:
- 15+ years of commercial underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of Real Estate industry
- Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organizational/prioritization and analytical skills
- Demonstrated strategic and creative thinker
- Strong collaborator with counterparts and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects
