This position will supervise the Quality Assurance (QA) department to run regular reports, track and correct errors, monitor prior authorization requirements, respond to QA Helpdesk emails, review restricted access incidents, track outcome measures (DLA), prepare monthly statistics reports, develop and edit EMR reports, and perform other compliance and quality activities. Requires excellent level Excel skills and a passion for data and numbers. Experience with direct client care preferred as the role requires extensive knowledge of Behavioral Health Diagnoses and EMR systems.


Objectives

Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI)

  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the organization’s QA program and staff.
  • Ensures that there are processes in place to monitor and measure all activities related to QA/QI.
  • Conduct chart review and auditing.
  • Coordinates activities related to clinical record review for data collection.
  • Strives to improve patient service delivery through active participation in QA/QI activities working closely with all members of the Quality and Information Systems teams to reduce errors in reporting and to ensure data integrity.

DATA Analysis

  • Extracts data and creates reports from all systems as requested or required for both internal and external use.
  • Assists in building, creating, maintaining, and distributing data used to make business decisions.
  • Assists with all projects/interventions/activities surrounding data reporting and/or meeting attendance for specialized quality/data projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge related to regulatory and the Joint Commission standards to ensure that the organization is compliant with state, federal and accreditation guidelines.
  • Monitor organization compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Review documentation in EMR.
  • Provides assistance, support and development surrounding EMR data extraction and reporting with an agency-wide concentration for both grant-funded and non-grant funded programming and patient services.
  • Support and collaborate with clinical and non-clinical team members to examine data and support the organization’s goals around data and analytics.
  • Build and generate reports from the EMR system.
  • Facilitate the overall quality and completeness of the clinical documentation to accurately represent the client being treated and to support compliant billing.

Staff Support/Collaboration

  • Supervises QA team and supports staff regarding standards, policies, regulations and provides in-service training to leadership and personnel as needed in these areas.
  • Works collaboratively with clinical staff to assure documentation is complete and consistent with care and reflects legal requirements.
  • Provide education and feedback to staff regarding documentation requirements.
  • Collaborates with clinical and agency staff to recommend workflow changes and adjustments to increase efficiency, ensure grant indicators and deliverables are met and prepares and extracts progress reports for analysis by quality/data team and appropriate agency-wide personnel.
  • Reviews clinician documentation for accuracy.
  • Communicates regularly with clinical staff and provides ongoing education.
  • Monitors client clinical records utilizing established outcome criteria (plan of care, goals, and objectives)
  • Assists clinicians in accurate coding, and other required documentation completion.
  • Organizes and/or participates in scheduled staff meetings and in-service education.
  • Effectively and appropriately communicates with staff as necessary to ensure appropriate, accurate and complete clinical documentation.
  • Participate in meetings, including feedback on outstanding issues, presentations for educational opportunities and any other needs identified.
  • Communicates with and educates all clinical staff concerning accurate and effective clinical documentation.

Skill Requirements:

  • Requires clinical licensure, either LCPC or LCSW credentials.
  • Requires high intermediate to excellent level Excel skills and a passion for data and numbers.
  • Experience with direct client care and knowledge of Credible EMR will be helpful.
  • Demonstrates a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks.
  • Completes work with accuracy and within agency time frames.
  • Requires minimal supervision and is self-directed.
