Our work depends on a Mainframe Systems Engineer Senior Advisor joining our team to provide Db2 support for IBM z/OS mainframes that serve critical government clients. Your work will safeguard essential services and ensure the mission is never interrupted, offering a challenging but rewarding environment in which to grow and thrive. This is a REMOTE position.

HOW A MAINFRAME SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Install, upgrade, and configure Db2 for z/OS
  • Install, upgrade, and configure the IBM Db2 Tools for z/OS suite of products
  • Upgrade and configure Omegamon/XE for Db2 PE
  • Prepare SMP/E upgrades. Document upgrade process.
  • Troubleshoot problems. Open IBM cases, provide documentation, and work through resolution.
  • Run and maintain Db2 systems. Provide Db2 support for operating system upgrades and hardware upgrades. Provide Db2 support for Disaster Recovery tests.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience with Db2 for z/OS
  • Ability to install, upgrade, configure, and administer Db2 systems and tools
  • Knowledge of IBM Db2 and z/OS
  • Ability to setup and configure Omegamon/XE
  • Experience troubleshooting issues at all levels
  • Ability to clearly and effectively document trouble issues
  • Excellent communication skills

The likely salary range for this position is $127,254 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
