What the job is:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install, repair, remodel, and maintain production equipment, vehicles, machines, and the facility's fixtures and equipment.
- Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams, and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
- Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
- Performs non-critical concrete repairs & patching.
- Performs general carpentry work (drywall repair, cabinet repair, hardware replacement, etc.).
- Installs repair signs (bulletin boards, hang/fix overhead and general signs).
- Completes minor plumbing repairs (unplug drains, replace faucets, automatic flushers, etc.).
- Responsible for outside yard debris clean-up (all areas of property, docks, etc.).
- Performs general plant painting & paint touch-ups (inside & outside of the facility).
- Replaces batteries in automatic devices throughout facility (commode, air fresheners, soap, and alcohol dispensers, etc.).
- Overtime hours are available and sometimes required during the busier times of the year.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- 2 years of recent warehouse and/or forklift experience is preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Must possess a strong understanding of teamwork, communication, and customer service
- Able to lift, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50lbs
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- High school diploma/GED required
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Ontario, CA: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Forklift: 2 years (required)
- Carpentry experience: 1 year
- Mechanical repair: 2 years
Language:
- English (must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing)
