Business Analytics and Insight Associate
The Business Analytics & Insight Associate is responsible for developing and supporting performance analytics in support of key business and operations leaders across divisions at athenahealth. The Associate is tasked with defining, building and delivering reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) that support a variety of commercial and operational metrics. The Associate enables the business partner relationship by helping to generate impactful insights into performance through the creation of reports and dashboards, and assisting in the development, and maintenance of, core data sources. The Associate reports to the Business Analytics & Insights Director and is part of the broader Financial Planning and Analysis division.
Job Responsibilities
Create and optimize KPI definitions and report on trends and performance on an ongoing basis, highlighting key insights to business partners and partner on defining opportunities to improve outcomes
Produce standard metric reports and packages for ELT and BoD reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis
Deliver on ad hoc projects and analyses aimed at improving commercial or operational performance and key business results
Support governance of metric definitions and associated datasets by owning ongoing documentation and socialization of changes
Participate in initiatives to develop and mature the corporate reporting framework (anything from creating new metrics to defining datamart architecture)
Actively participate in athena’s annual planning process. Develop forecast/budget models for key operational and growth performance measures, participate in goal-setting, identify cross-functional dependencies, etc.
Manage ongoing end-user training on business-facing dashboards and own delivery of enhancements/bug fixes
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (required)
0-2 years of business intelligence, data modeling/analysis, management consulting, or other analytical/business strategy-related experience
Experience working in or supporting B2B SaaS or other high-tech customer organizations preferred
Strong analytical skills, with some experience in financial modeling, data mining/modeling, and/or statistics
SQL experience preferred
