About Our Team

The benchmarking team at Applied Materials analyzes the performance of tools in Applied’s installed base. The team works with Applied Materials’ customer engineers to collect and score tool performance and provide a scorecard that identifies improvement opportunities. This benchmarking service is part of the business process for selling service contracts. The team also builds and maintains a knowledge base of field performance and best-known methods.

Role Responsibilities

• Partner with customer engineers and sales to identify and define benchmarking opportunities.
• Collect and analyze data from tools at customer sites.
• Produce benchmarking scorecards. Report and identify tool improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain the benchmarking knowledge base and associated infrastructure.
• Research new metrics to add to the benchmarking scorecard.
• Use various in-house and third party (e.g., JMP) applications to analyze data.
• Write case studies and internal publications on benchmarking thought leadership.
• Generate training material on how to do and use benchmarking.

Requirements

• Graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math, Physical Science, or related field
• Student must be in good academic standard at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
• Ability to solve complex problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

U.S. Salary Range:

$80,000.00 - $110,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
