Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor will manage the optimization and improvement of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems at the Miller Chemical plant in Hanover, PA. This person will maintain systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; troubleshooting, restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Provide supervision and direction to Maintenance Mechanic.

The Maintenance supervisor’s position is responsible for facility and equipment maintenance (office and plant), scheduling and coordinating with contractors and oversight of regulatory requirements related to building maintenance and environmental compliance.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- • Order spare parts for manufacturing equipment and maintain inventory of the parts.
• Fosters a culture of Continuous Improvement and Sustainability with a focus on manufacturing efficiencies and performance improvements.
• Communicate and monitor safety standards to Maintenance and Production teams. Engage employees with involvement, ideas and participation towards safety goals and culture.
• Work with the alarm system company for response to security alerts or other emergencies. Determine plan of action for alerts.
• Provides daily assignments, coaching and counseling, to Maintenance Team members. Responsible for time keeping and vacation requests for staff.
• Manages performance and supports development of direct reports
• Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews.
• Contributes to capital projects, strategic goals and continuous improvement objectives. Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results.
• Evaluates functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
• Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
• Focus on Continuous Education by reading articles, publications, technical bulletins, and contractor specific information.
• Work with electrical contractors to back up the Process Logic Controller (PLC) software.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned
• Support Huber efforts to meet or exceed our EHS&S, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance expectations.
• Accountable and responsible in meeting the site’s short and long term objectives and annual targets while ensuring consistent alignment with Business/Operational needs.
• Serve as an enabler in using Lean Six Sigma tools and Problem Solving methodologies are used as part of daily operations
• Standardized site operational processes and performance to eliminate / reduce waste, variability and errors
• Track and investigate downtime issues in production that are related to equipment and develop a Root Cause Analysis to determine correct root cause and implement the corrective actions.
• Review and keep updated the equipment and systems criticality.
• Review and update maintenance plans, create new plans for existing and new equipment.
• Develop maintenance contracts to improve equipment reliability.
• Perform reliability analysis to determine the equipment plant bad actors for cost, downtime, time to repair and recurrences.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- B.S. Degree in Engineering preferred, Experience accepted in lieu of Degree
- CAPEX experience
- Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement experience
- Strong leadership, communication, facilitation and project man
