Job Description

What you will do:

  • Producing a product that meets internal and external customer demands.
  • Set-up and operate production equipment.
  • Assists in the determination of production schedules, raw material needs, and manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor manufacturing methods, processes and procedures to assure meeting departmental goals.
  • Assist with routine administrative tasks and department back-up functions.
  • Continually monitors safety procedures to assure a clean, safe work environment.
  • Communicates effectively within the team and with support departments.
  • Effectively leads a team of 10 or more co-workers in day-to-day work operations and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Regularly provides feedback in their area of responsibility to appropriate management.
  • Visibly support continuous improvement activities.
  • Prepares production jobs for associates in accordance to business needs.

Qualifications

Experience & Background:

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret symbols, dimensioning, tolerances, three-dimensional & Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing concepts in blueprints
  • Ability to follow proper sequences or procedures from routing documents
  • Ability to set up and operate various machining equipment
  • Ability to schedule manual and robotic welding equipment as well as parts washing to cost-effectively produce high-quality product on a timely basis
  • Knowledge of metal types by characteristics, markings, and uses
  • Ability to identify scaled v. smooth surfaces, magnetic v. non-magnetic properties, warpage, corrosion properties, and color distinctions
  • Ability to repetitively (using safe manual lifting procedure) lift 33 lbs. of material from ground up to waist high levels and load onto machinery
  • Knowledge of conversion systems involving metric, U.S. standard and other measuring standards
  • Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry to determine proper layout, programming, set-ups, and part inspection
  • Ability to use math for general work (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Ability to adjust machines according to desired tolerances
  • Ability to accurately inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges, measuring threads, O.D, I.D., lengths, or depths within predefined accuracy ranges
  • Ability to learn a variety of processes, including but not limited to forge, weld and saws
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and between shifts on work in progress
  • Ability to maintain and promote positivity throughout the shift under all circumstances
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner
