JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Financial Analyst will inspect and review financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss and other related financial activities.

QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
• At least two years of related experience required.
• AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card / Background and Criminal History Clearance.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Inspects the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available, and expenditures are assigned correctly.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Reviews and maintains the general ledger.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
• Reviews and/or assists with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.
• Prepares journal entries.
• Performs variance analysis on the income statement and balance sheet.
• Prepares current fiscal year financial projections.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Assists with purchasing and accounts payable, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting.
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficient with accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Work in a well lit area with some foot traffic.

COMPENSATION: $53,000 - $76,000
