Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and functions for the assigned team. Key responsibilities include delegating work to team members, supervising work processes, providing informal leadership of sub teams or technology silos, managing on call and support schedules, and providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to team members. Job expectations include solving complex technical and analytical issues and effectively communicating results to senior management and Line of Business partners.
Position Summary:
The Tech Services Lead will be dedicated to Capital Markets initiatives, aligned with the desk, and responsible for ensuring stability, resiliency, and seamless execution of deal-related applications used in Primary Markets (New Issue / Syndication). This role partners closely with syndicate, origination, sales, operations, and technology teams to deliver timely production support, issue resolution, and workflow improvements for business-critical deal execution platforms. The candidate is expected to have strong business knowledge of capital markets processes, excellent troubleshooting ability, and the communication skills needed to interact with front-office stakeholders under time-sensitive conditions.
They act as the first line of defense for application stability, ensuring issues are identified, escalated, and resolved efficiently, while also contributing to enhancements and user adoption of the platform.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks and assignments for the team including tracking tasks and tickets in system(s) of record, ensuring enterprise service level agreements are met, and participating in defect, incident, problem, and change review meetings and release activities
- Provides point of escalation for team members, peers, and partner teams, and shares the leadership Point of Contact for triage of high priority incidents or consulting engagements
- Performs all responsibilities of team members from applicable teams
- Works with appropriate teams to ensure alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes are established appropriately for new projects and initiatives
- Participates and helps with resource interviews and onboarding processes
- Performs access reviews, conducts compliance activities, and serves as a delegate for administrative processes
- Creates the on call rotation schedule and ensures support for off hours, weekends, and release windows
- Provide dedicated desk-aligned application support for Primary Markets deal execution and syndication applications.
- Partner with syndicate desk, sales, organization and operations teams to support live deal execution in a high-pressure environment.
- Proactively monitor critical trade execution workflows to ensure timely identification and resolution of production issues.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve application incidents; escalate to development teams where required, ensuring minimal disruption to business.
- Support release testing, business validation, and readiness for new features and workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of New Issue, Book Building, and Syndication workflows in Fixed Income and Equities.
- Prior experience providing desk-aligned production support in a trading floor or capital markets environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to resolve critical production issues quickly under pressure.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to interact confidently with front-office users.
- Knowledge of bond fundamentals and capital markets execution processes is mandatory.
