Position Description

Origis Energy is looking for a Director or Sr. Director of Equipment Procurement to join our growing team. This person will join an experienced team with the main objective of driving the procurement strategy and standards for our energy storage segment (BESS) and solar modules.  These faced pass commodities are a growing space and the successful candidate will help Origis Energy navigate strategy, market conditions and make sourcing recommendations for our growing renewable business.  This includes managing the related relationships with key suppliers, creating strategy guides for leadership and navigating the changes in law and how to best adapt to assure high quality sourcing at the best price points.  This position will represent Origis at trade shows, build relationships with suppliers and industry leaders and maintain a strategy roadmap for negotiations and terms associated with storage and solar projects. 

*The position is either Director or Sr. Director level, based upon relevant experience and will be determined by hiring team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, when applicable, for modules and energy storage equipment (including but not limited to batteries, enclosures and associated hardware); analyze bid results and compile bid evaluations.
• Lead analysis and evaluation of supplier product options and make recommendations for supplier and product selections, including quantifying and managing contractual risk with suppliers.
• Negotiate and contract equipment and service transactions for projects and support the interdisciplinary team across legal, finance, development, operations, technical and other personnel.
• Negotiate and execute master agreements, service agreements, and purchase orders in support of company projects.
• Guide development strategies and providing expertise to our business development and sales teams.
• Maintain the necessary technical and administrative infrastructure to manage historical pricing across all projects and technologies; create forward-looking reports projecting price and technology improvements for all major storage equipment.
• Assist with the project’s financial close process, including providing copies of requested contracts (and exhibits) and compiling responses from OEMs and/or interdisciplinary teams to independent engineering (IE) questions.
