This position primarily involves a hybrid work schedule - working remotely: Monday & Friday / on site: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
New York Life Direct is looking for a talented CVP to join our Planning, Forecasting & Strategy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the AARP sales planning, forecasting, and reporting processes, and will report on overall sales results within a direct/performance marketing environment.
The CVP will work closely with the marketing strategy team to quantify initiatives, monitor effectiveness, and analyze trends.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, excellent presentation abilities, the ability to multi-task and manage projects effectively, and the ability to drive innovation through new insights.
As the sales planning, forecasting and strategy lead for the AARP Life business, you will be responsible for the following: Creating accurate and reliable sales forecasts and plans based on historical data, market trends, and strategic assumptions. Collaborating with the marketing strategy and planning teams to align sales forecasts with marketing initiatives and goals. Collaborating with business planning team to align sales forecasts with value stream initiatives. Reviewing business owner value stream sales assumptions prior to forecasting/planning cycles. Assist with streamlining of initiative processes. Monitoring and reporting on sales performance and variances to plan/forecast, and identifying opportunities and risks for the business. Presenting plans and assessments to senior leadership. Enhancing and validating the quality and accuracy of all analytical models and outputs. Making recommendations to maximize sales and manage costs to effectively grow the business and meet profitability targets. Collaborating/coordinating with external departments on data analytics needs and providing recommendations to close any gaps. Assisting planning team with continued development of database queries to glean business insights. Continually scan external landscape for new sales planning tools, including AI/GenAI options. Leading the planning team’s “improvement practices” workstream. Providing support for marketing expense management function. Project management and supporting other ad hoc requests as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Marketing or Analytical background preferred.
- 5+ years of applicable experience that includes analytical aptitude.
- Ability to perform analysis at an expert level and provide actionable insights.
- Must have advanced excel skills to be successful in this position.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, while consistently meeting deadlines through effective prioritization and time management skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding critical thinking ability.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Sound understanding of business math principles and ability to apply to actual marketing scenarios.
- Basic to intermediate level understanding of marketing metrics modeling and dynamic report structuring.
- Ability to quantify the impact of marketing programs on sales/efficiency.
- Ability to co-ordinate work and follow-up on deliverables across a large team of peers and more senior associates.
- Ability to perform root-cause analysis to identify the drivers of variance in marketing campaigns.
- Knows when to escalate issues for decision-making.
- Strong communicator with the ability to lead large group meetings and handle communications with senior leaders.

Salary range: $110,000-$150,000
