Joining our team as a Supervisor In Training as part of our LEAP program will help you gain knowledge of our entire operation, from procurement to maintenance, and prepare you to be the next exceptional leader at Canfor Southern Pine.
What is LEAP? Canfor's LEAP (Leadership Exposure Acceleration Program) is a 12-month fast-tracked technical and leadership program to advance your career path within Canfor's operations. The program’s purpose is to expedite the development of talented and high potential professionals to assume operational leadership positions. This program was created for the hustler who is ready to give it their all, in exchange for rapid advancement. You will be shown what it takes to be a leader in the sawmill industry and will experience several job rotations while you gain exposure to our entire operation. You'll be taught all aspects of our business with the final goal of moving into a supervisory role at the end of the program based on your interests and business needs.
In this program you will:
- Develop leadership skills, supported by supervisors, advisors, and mentors
- Gain knowledge in multiple areas of the industry through a full job rotation
- Drive practical improvements by leading your own operations project
- Build the skills you'll need through bi-weekly training and career planning support
- Earn an Industrial Wood Processing certificate through British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)
Who you are:
- College or University graduate
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Responsible, hardworking, and self-motivated
- Willing to work on all shifts, in all conditions
- Hunger for a challenge, eager to learn
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work from any of our operations
