The Opportunity:

We’re looking Linux System Administrator who will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, as well as supporting teammates, in other Linux based environments. As a Linux System Administrator on our project, you’ll constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your technical expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. The role includes system installation, integration, troubleshooting, and providing technical solutions to optimize the operational capabilities of the RHEL systems. The successful candidate will work closely with IT professionals and contractors, ensuring systems are stable, secure, and properly configured.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Install and integrate hardware, perform system fixes, and apply updates and enhancements to RHEL systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software interface issues and other complex or non-routine problems.

  • Review and implement Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) to ensure systems meet security compliance.

  • Ensure the stability, security, and integrity of operating systems by supporting system development and maintenance.

  • Recommend improvements for system performance and troubleshoot operational challenges.

  • Document supported services, processes, configurations, and system fixes to ensure clear and accurate system records.

  • Maintain relationships with customers and provide tailored solutions to meet diverse needs.

  • Collaborate with IT professionals, contractors, and vendors to optimize system performance and efficiency.

You Have: 

  • 2+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and working in a virtualized environment

  • Experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) systems administration and with operating and managing VMWARE ESX servers

  • Experience installing and configuring domain controllers and Windows servers, user and group management, and basic GPO configuration

  • Experience administering and managing user and system accounts and troubleshooting system and permissions issues on Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions

  • Experience troubleshooting system and permissions issues on Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions

  • Ability to integrate Linux systems with Active Directory

  • Ability to secure Debian, Ubuntu, or Fedora Linux distributions according to government standards, including STIGs or NIST Special Publications

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • IAT II Cybersecurity Workforce IA Certification such as Security+ CE, CISSP, CCNA Security, or CySA+ Certification

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience performing system administration of Windows and Windows Server versions

  • Experience managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls

  • Ability to write extensive Bash scripts to facilitate workflow for users

  • Ability to write Python programs to facilitate workflow for users

  • Ability to operate in a high-speed environment with changing and evolving mission priorities

  • Linux+ Certification

Clearance:
