Position Summary

 

The Director, Aviation Services will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Aviation Services department with a team of over 20 employees and a budget of $25M. Works with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to implement the company's aviation strategies including Fixed Wing, Helicopter, and UAS (Drone) Operations. This position will work with the senior management of each of the company's Lines of Business (LOB) to drive the right strategies necessary to meet the line of business needs for all flight services. He/she will ensure industry leading programs within each LOB that efficiently and effectively manage the inherent risk, ensure compliance, and meet business objectives and metrics.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

 

A reasonable salary range is:

 

Bay Area Minimum: $170,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $290,000.00

 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Provide leadership and direction to aviation management including: Aircraft Operations Manager, Chief Pilot and Helicopter Operations Manager 
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with business units and external agencies
  • Develops, oversees, and implements policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards to support business operating plans and goals
  • Provide leadership and support for aviation management role in emergency events
  • Leads efforts for the adoption of new UAS (Drone) strategies and applications that drives safety and affordability initiatives
  • Manages and approves all aviation operations, functions, and workflow
  • Provides overall aviation program direction, and optimizes aviation program spending and resource allocation
  • Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and coaching, and rewards and recognition
  • Manages an annual budget of approximately $25 million
  • Represent the company in aviation matters with outside regulators and others and ensures compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, company policy and all required record keeping
