Business Systems Developer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Business Systems Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, cloud-based software solutions that modernize and unify internal business systems. This role is instrumental in transforming legacy tools and fragmented workflows into integrated, efficient, and user-friendly platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong full-stack development experience, architectural insight, and the ability to deliver end-to-end solutions in a fast-moving environment. This position requires a balance of hands-on technical execution and collaboration with business stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

•    Analyze, redesign, and rebuild legacy applications across departments.
•    Transition manual, spreadsheet-based processes to modern, web-based tools.
•    Build scalable applications using current front-end frameworks and cloud-based backends.
•    Identify and retire redundant or underutilized applications.
•    Replace fragmented or low-code solutions with centralized, maintainable systems.
•    Develop system integrations to ensure seamless data flow and process continuity.
•    Build custom tools that support field operations, administrative workflows, and internal collaboration.
•    Automate manual tasks to reduce data entry errors and increase efficiency.
•    Design user-friendly interfaces tailored to both technical and non-technical users.
•    Develop relational database structures to support real-time entry, tracking, and reporting.
•    Integrate dashboards and reporting capabilities for strategic insights and operational KPIs.
•    Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and usability across all platforms.
•    Improve or replace outdated document sharing platforms and portals.
•    Centralize resources through custom internal portals with mobile accessibility.
•    Lead development initiatives and partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate quickly.
•    Maintain development standards, timelines, and project plans.
•    Manage collaborative tools including Git repositories, Jira projects, and knowledge documentation.
 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Required:
•    10+ years of full-stack development experience with expertise in C#, .NET, JavaScript, and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
•    Strong understanding of software architecture, agile development, and cloud-based deployment.
•    Proven experience building and consuming APIs, integrating systems, and automating workflows.
•    Ability to work independently in a dynamic, evolving environment.
•    Excellent verbal, written, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred:
•    Experience transitioning from low-code platforms (e.g., Power Apps) to custom-built solutions.
•    Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) and backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Supabase).
•    Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
•    Background in construction, field services, or operations-intensive environments.

Education & Certifications:
•    Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
•    Certifications in cloud platforms, full-stack development, or systems integration are a plus.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•    Ability to maintain focus and productivity in a sedentary role for extended periods (approximately 75% of the time). 
•    Regularly operate computers and office machinery with precision and efficiency. 
•    Physical ability to navigate multi-level workspaces, including ascending and descending stairs as needed.
