The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1What Is the Opportunity?
As a Director, Compliance in BI Legal, you will be responsible for assisting with the overall management of compliance initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, advising, and adjusting strategies to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and company policies. In addition, you will be accountable for raising concerns and protecting company exposure on compliance related matters.What Will You Do?
- Market Regulatory Activity:
- With limited oversight, facilitate and direct non-financial market regulatory activities, including market conduct exams, interrogatories, surveys, and data calls, in higher complexity states/matters.
- Lead the coordination and review of information and responses with other business groups and/or Corporate Compliance.
- Draft responses to inquiries, criticisms, and alleged violations.
- Assist in the design, monitoring and negotiation of corrective actions and potential penalties.
- Engage with business groups on proactive compliance and/or strategies for monitoring and ensuring compliance with corrective action plans.
- Design and produce reports on compliance-related data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Address General Compliance Issues:
- Advise, consult, and provide training and education on matters related to compliance with laws, regulations, applicable company policies, and ethical behavior, while leveraging compliance-related data and trends.
- Proactively collaborate with business partners to understand their priorities and goals and to support projects or matters which drive business outcomes.
- Support the remediation of regulatory issues discovered within Business Insurance and address compliance related exposures, and potential internal and external reporting requirements.
- Contact for Regulatory Bodies:
- Develop and maintain productive/effective relationships with key regulators in higher complexity states to create positive outcomes for the enterprise.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Eight years prior experience with state jurisdictional guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to various audiences.
- Advanced relationship building skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels within the Department or external contacts.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to represent the company in various environments.
- Ability to effectively attract, develop and retain top talent.
- Exceptional ability to think strategically and apply critical thinking skills.
- Be inquisitive in analyzing information to make decisions and solve problems.

- Seven years of relevant business, compliance, and/or regulatory experience.
