Job Summary:
The University of Colorado, School of Dental Medicine (SDM) is looking for a full-time Sterilization Technician II to support the CUDT clinics and pre-doctoral programs. Under the direction of the Clinical Support Services department leadership, our Sterilization Technicians support clinical operations for the entire School of Dental Medicine (SDM). These positions are integral to dental education clinical operations, focusing on sterilization and sterile processing with the opportunity for training and career growth in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Instrument and Equipment Sterilization – 85%
- Cleans and decontaminates instruments and equipment according to established procedures and techniques.
- Ensures proper functioning of equipment.
- Cleans and sanitizes machines and equipment.
- Maintains a level of sterilized instruments for distribution.
- Issues sterile reusable instruments to the clinical units.
- Collects and reprocesses reusable patient care instruments. Collects dirty case carts from all clinical floors and transports them to the main decontamination. Transports sterile instrumentation to all clinical floors via case cart.
- Prepares specialized instrument set-ups for undergraduate students, residents, and faculty to be used during dental patient treatment.
Instrument Distribution – 15%
- Issues sterile reusable instruments to operatories and clinical units; collects and re-sterilizes used instruments. Prepares specialized instrument setups for undergraduate students, residents, and faculty to be used during dental patient treatment.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the unit to include scheduling, directing the work of others, and providing input on performance evaluations.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO
