TITLE: LOGISTICS ENGINEER
ESSENTIAL fUNCTIONS/Duties:
Maintain and optimize supply-chain systems including production planning, stocks, and Logistics FMEA. Design and implement improvements in the supply-chain including upstream, internal and downstream physical and information flows based on Lean principles and best practices. Define/set up physical organization. Interface with Optimap/Optipro organization on management of new products and process introduction. Promote safety culture for the logistics team forklift operator by working on the plant layout footprint. Prepare supply-chain KPIs and update the related action plans for review by the Plant Logistics Manager. Maintain and optimize supply-chain systems (production planning, EDI). Continuous Improvement (upstream, internal and downstream physical and information flows) based on Lean principles and PO best practices). Contribute to the VSM activities: reduction of NVA activities, increase pulled flows in the plant. Define optimum stock levels at each step of the production process, stock reduction activities. Responsible for new product/process Introduction: Interface with Optimap/Optipro team. Work with engineering and logistics to develop and implement optimum flow, storage, and layout solutions (for new products, change of process, and as continuous improvement for existing flows). Update the book of flows. Specify the requirements in terms of information systems and communicate them to the ITS Manager and System Controller.

REQUIREMENTS: Main Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Logistics Engineering, or closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Material Planner or related role where required experience gained. Alternate Requirements: In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in stated fields and five (5) years of stated experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in stated fields and three (3) years of stated experience where required experience gained. Special Skills: Also requires 3 years of experience in the following: Coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and transportation companies to ensure timely delivery of goods. Participating in planning warehouse, distribution, and transportation operations. Evaluating logistics data. Conducting regular inventory audits. Managing COGI plant performance. Managing material requirements. Maintaining optimal inventory levels. Customer Relationships and integrating requirements. SAP and Customer Portal. SQL.
