About the role

The Team:

The Spencer Clinic is a dynamic, contemporary, evidence based mental health team. The unit includes 2 psychiatrists, 2 Senior medical officers, an RMO, a social worker, a psychologist and a great team of nurses and support people.

  • There is a focus on ongoing professional development
  • You will be privileged to walk alongside our consumers, their friends and families in their recovery journey.
  • The next two years will see the opening of a new mental health unit at Burnie Hospital

The Role:

The Registered Nurse strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.

You will need:

  • Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) Registered Nurse standards for practice. 
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. 
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence based practice in the practice setting.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 40 hours per fortnight, to commence as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Location: North West, Tasmania

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility:
