About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Senior System Administrator) to support the General Services Administration (GSA) on the ITRegs program. This role is part of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team, with primary responsibilities in legacy systems management, particularly Documentum and Oracle, and migration support. The engineer will ensure system reliability, security, and performance while sustaining these legacy technologies and assisting in their transition into a modernized, cloud-hosted environment.  

What you will do: 

  • Provide system administration and operational support for legacy environments, including Documentum and Oracle-based systems.  
  • Support migration efforts from on-premises legacy systems to cloud-based environments (AWS under GSA management).  
  • Ensure 24/7 system availability (minimum 99.5% uptime) across production, test, and COOP environments.  
  • Perform patching, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting for infrastructure and applications.  
  • Monitor and maintain system performance using security and logging tools (e.g., Symantec, DataDog, Kiwi Syslog, Fortiweb).  
  • Support vulnerability scanning, security patching, and remediation activities in compliance with federal security requirements (NIST, FedRAMP, GSA IT policies).  
  • Document and manage configuration changes in line with change control and configuration management processes.  
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions to ensure system stability.  
  • Collaborate with GSA stakeholders and technical teams to support continuity of operations and disaster recovery (COOP/DR).  

 What you will bring: 

  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience in system administration, site reliability, or operations engineering.  
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (U.S. citizenship required).  
  • Hands-on experience with Documentum, including administration, configuration, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.  
  • Experience with Oracle database environments (administration, performance tuning, and integration) is a strong plus.  
  • Proficiency with enterprise operating systems (Linux/Red Hat and Windows) and legacy system management  
  • Extensive experience with AWS and a deep understanding of AWS networking and containerization tools 
  • Development experience with Java, Python or Ruby 
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and security tools (e.g., DataDog, Symantec, Kiwi Syslog, Fortiweb) for performance and compliance support.  
  • Knowledge of federal IT security standards (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF) and experience working in compliance-driven environments.  
  • Ability to work in 24/7 operations environments, including supporting continuity of operations and disaster recovery.  
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; ability to manage complex legacy systems while supporting modernization.  
  • Understanding of all layers of software engineering and system architecture.  
  • Proficiency in securing systems on the application, network, and infrastructure layers.  
  • Experience with core infrastructure capabilities: operating systems, networking, identity, and access.
